Tier Two Draft Environmental Impact Statement
January 24, 2014 - The Illiana Corridor Study Tier Two Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is available for public review and comment. The Tier Two Draft EIS documents the need for transportation improvements for east-west travel between I-55 in Illinois on the west and I-65 in Indiana on the east. The Tier Two Draft EIS is a compilation of stakeholder outreach and comprehensive information about the project's purpose and need, proposed plans and alternatives, and potential effects on environmental resources such as wetlands, wildlife, cultural resources and noise, as well as the potential effects on future traffic operations caused by proposed alternatives as well as the "no-build" alternative.
We encourage you to review the full Draft EIS, particularly as it relates to issues important to you. The Draft EIS includes a detailed summary of the study findings. A detailed table of contents and an index are included to help guide you through the document. The full Draft EIS is available at public libraries throughout the study area, DOT offices and on-line. You can also order a DVD on the project website.
